How to reduce noise in experiments?

Source:Corrtest Time:2021-12-02 View:0

1. Make sure the solution in salt bridge is conductive, and that the tip of the RE is drown in the agar and connected well with the WE solution. To make sure    the microporous ceramic is well socked, so as to reduce the RE impedance.
2.Open the filter of the system to improve stability.
   3. Give a serial capacitor (100nF) between the RE and CE if the noise resulted from the solution resistance is unavoidable.
   4. For corrosion test, add a 1uF capacitor between WE and machine shell of the potentiostat (or the outer shell of the high frequency socket on the front panel of the instrument.)
   5. For impedance test, make a parallel connection of a Pt wire and RE. Dip one end of the Pt wire into solution and connect the other end to RE output port by a 100nF capacitor.
   6. All of the equipment in the experiment incl. the PC must be connected to the ground using a separate ground wire. If there is no suitable ground wire, the   user should use a thick copper wire to connect the PC with a nearby water tap.
  7. Shut down all the possible environmental interference source such as high-power power supply, computer monitor, stirrer, and fluorescence light etc.
8.Use the Faraday cage, and connect it to the ground.
